In response to the rapid developments in the world of technology and the increasing digital threats facing individuals and institutions alike, the Department of Cybersecurity Sciences was established at the College of Science, Alnoor University, in 2025. It is considered one of the specialized departments concerned with protecting systems and information from various cyber threats. The establishment of the department came as a strategic step aimed at supplying the local and regional labor markets with scientifically and practically qualified professionals capable of operating within secure digital environments, as well as enhancing cybersecurity awareness within society. The department adopts modern curricula that cover multiple fields, including network security, cryptography, secure cloud computing, cybercrime, malware analysis, and penetration testing, in addition to practical training in specialized laboratories that enable students to simulate cyberattacks and defense mechanisms. The academic program has been designed in line with international standards, with a focus on refining students’ technical skills and developing their analytical thinking.

Department Description

Upon graduation, a graduate of the Department of Cybersecurity Sciences is well grounded in the scientific and technical principles that qualify them to work in the field of information security. They possess the ability to analyze cyber risks and develop appropriate protection strategies. The graduate is capable of assessing vulnerabilities in computer systems and implementing practical solutions to secure them, in addition to having advanced skills in cryptography, programming, and security incident analysis. They are also distinguished by a precise understanding of laws and regulations related to cybersecurity, and are qualified to work in governmental institutions, technology companies, digital emergency response centers, or to pursue further academic studies in advanced fields of digital security.

The mission of the Department of Medical Physics Sciences is to provide high-quality education that integrates fundamental physical principles with clinical applications, with the aim of preparing students who possess the scientific and professional skills required to work in medical institutions and treatment centers. The department also seeks to support applied scientific research and contribute to community development by preparing qualified graduates capable of operating advanced medical equipment and achieving the highest standards of quality and safety within the healthcare environment.
