Based on society’s need for specialized professionals who combine scientific knowledge with technical skills in the field of forensic investigation and analysis, the Department of Forensic Sciences was established in the College of Science – Alnoor University in 2025, to become one of the leading departments keeping pace with modern developments in forensic sciences and investigative technologies. The establishment of the department was a response to the rapid advancement in crime detection methods and the growing reliance on scientific principles and laboratory techniques in the field of criminal justice. A comprehensive academic program has been developed that integrates chemistry, biology, physics, and digital forensic analysis techniques, enabling students to understand the nature of crimes, the mechanisms of detecting them, and the analysis of associated evidence.
Department Description
A graduate of the Forensic Sciences Department is expected to have a solid understanding of the fundamentals and principles of forensic science and to be capable of handling and analyzing physical evidence using modern scientific methods and techniques. The graduate possesses analytical and laboratory skills that enable them to examine biological, chemical, and digital evidence and to understand how to link analysis results to crime scenarios. They are also qualified to work within criminal investigation teams or in forensic and police laboratories, with a strong commitment to professional ethics and strict confidentiality in handling cases. In addition, the graduate is capable of preparing accurate technical reports and actively participating in legal and judicial procedures, making them an essential component of the justice system.
