Alnoor University participated in the specialized workshop organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with Clarivate, under the title (Building a University Ecosystem for Transforming Knowledge into Economic Value,) with the participation of a number of university presidents, researchers, and experts.

Alnoor University was represented at the workshop by Professor Dr. Ismail Abdulwahab Ismail, Assistant President of Alnoor University for Scientific Affairs, accompanied by the Head of the Science and Technology Gardens Department and the Head of the Technology Incubator Division, as part of the University’s efforts to develop its innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem and enhance the transformation of research outputs into applications and projects with economic and developmental value.

During the workshop, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dhahd, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, emphasized the importance of moving beyond the university’s traditional role of knowledge production toward building integrated systems capable of transforming scientific research and innovation into economic value. He also highlighted the importance of the Bologna Process and science and technology parks in linking educational outcomes with the skills required and in transferring knowledge and technologies to productive sectors.

The workshop included a specialized lecture delivered by Dr. Ayman Aqeel and Dr. Waleed Hassan from Clarivate, addressing the foundations for building an integrated university system for knowledge and innovation management and linking it to the labor market and productive sectors, in addition to reviewing a number of relevant experiences and practices.

The workshop also featured scientific discussions on developing the institutional environment for innovation in Iraqi universities, activating partnerships with the public and private sectors, and strengthening the role of science parks and technology incubators in transforming academic ideas and research into projects and solutions with economic and developmental impact.
